Anna Maria Pammer - Soprano

The master-class for voice is open to all aspiring singers who wish to work on their repertoire and technique under the tutelage of Anna Maria Pammer. We recommend a selection of Lieder (at least two Lieder in German) and opera- or oratorio-arias, including pieces from the classical modern period and contemporary music.

Registrations for existing duos (voice/piano) are equally welcome.

Each student is offered 4 lessons á 60 minutes, a rehearsal and participation at the closing concerts.

Beginning: Monday, July 29th, 2013 – 10.00 am

Anna Maria Pammer studied voice, violoncello, interpretation of song and oratorio, as well as opera technique in Vienna. Subsequently she received a Young Artist’s position at the Opera House in Zurich. One of her first major roles took place in Udo Zimmermann’s The Schuhu and the Flying Princess at the Salzburg Music Festival 1995 and consequently at the Opera House in Leipzig. Since then she has performed at the Opèra de Paris, the Vienna Volksoper, and the theatres of Cologne.

Anna Maria Pammer has performed with leading orchestras, including the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, the Chapelle Royale, the Orchestra of RAI Torino and the SWR Symphonic Orchestra, and with such distinguished conductors as Adam Fischer, Dennis Russell Davies, Sir Roger Norrington, Philippe Herreweghe and Franz Welser-Möst. She has sung with a wide array of chamber music ensembles, including the Arditti String Quartet, the Hagen Quartet, Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Gidon Kremer.

From 2007 to 2010 Anna Maria Pammer was Artist in Residence at the Bruckner House in

Linz. The programmes that she presented displayed her manifold interests and highlighted

her extraordinary feeling for conclusive dramaturgy. She presented a concert and conversation about the string-quartets of Arnold Schoenberg and created programmes on “Entartete Musik”, on Ludwig Wittgenstein, Cathy Berberian, Hildegard von Bingen and Barbara Strozzi.

Anna Maria Pammer is co-founder and artistic director of the Austro-Armenian Music Festival.

Her discography currently consists of 25 titles. Her most recent releases were Robert

Schumann’s Album für die Jugend and Balduin Sulzer’s Tractatus logico-philosophicus.
